Spring Kids Fest 2009 @ Madison Square Park

Description: Time Out Kids teams up with the Madison Square Park Conservancy for an annual outdoor fair full of arts activities, face painting, live animals, tasty treats and more....

Kid Pix: Movie Posters for Kids @ Posteritati
Address: 239 Centre St (Btwn Broome & Grand Sts)
Date: Sat. May 30; Time: 7pm & Sun. May 31; Time: noon-6pm
Description: Posteritati owner San Sarowitz's son, Benny (who is six-years-old) curated this exhibition of posters from classic children's flicks. Browse through art from WALL-E, Wallace & Gromit, Laurel and Hardy, Milo & Otis and more. Kids will undoubtedly get a kick out of reminiscing about their own favorite flicks as they walk the gallery.

Ok, all parents with lil's ones who break dance, this may be the event for you, children must be btwn the ages of 5 & 21 to battle......

Kids of New York Breakdancing Battle @ the Fulton Center
Address: 119 9th Avenue (Btwn 17th & 18th St.)
Date: Sat. May 30; Time: 11am-7pm
Description: Martial arts & hip-hop enthusiast, Anthony Colon, started this biannual breakdancing festival for kids, featuring deejays, dance demos and, of course, b-boy battles. Check out the hot popping action, and enjoy free food and a special performance by the Shaolin Kungfu Monks.

Young at Art: Children's Artwork from Studio in a School @ Affirmation Arts
Location: 523 W 37th St (between Eleventh and Tenth Aves)
Date: Sat. May 30; Time: 11am-5pm
Description: Young at Art: Children’s Artwork from Studio in a School celebrates the imagination of young artists by presenting approximately 150 works created by pre-kindergarten to 12th grade students from throughout New York City’s five boroughs. The exhibition will feature paintings, sculptures, drawings, collages and prints created by children in Studio’s programs. You can also expect expressive portraits painted in vivid colors, collaged landscapes that capture the energy of New York City streets, and large-scale collaborative sculptures of fantastical animals.
